THE ROMANTIC CENTURY
The excitement of being able to play
a perfectly restored original instrument and in excellent condition, both light and bright, perfect for the orchestral parts of the 19th century due to an extremely agile third octave. Unfortunately this repertoire is played far too rarely! The Martin brothers worked in Paris from the 1830s to the 1860s making various flute models recognizable
by their characteristic trademark of the figure of a bee. This instrument is made of grained boxwood and has five keys (G sharp, B flat, F natural, C natural and D sharp). It can be heard here in the sinfonia of
La scala di seta by Gioacchino Rossini.
